MATERIALS:
–          3 sizes of TOHO beads: 8o, 11o and 15o
–          10 Rondelle beads (6mm x 4mm or other size)
–          strong thread (for example Toho G-One)
–          2 earring hooks
–          2 eye pins
–          strong and thin needle for beading
–          small scissors
–          jewelry pliers

1. Start by making 4 identical peyote triangles according to the pictures below. Cut about 30-40cm of thread, string 3 11o TOHO beads on a thread and go through them again making a loop. Make a knot, so the beads will not get separated when you continue adding beads. Make another loop by adding 2 beads in between each of 3 initial beads.

Again start by adding 2 beads in the triangle angle, add one bead in between triangle angles and continue this pattern until the loop is finished (pictures below shows the pattern). You will continue using this pattern adding 2 beads together in the angles and single beads in between beads of expanding triangle sides.

Now you see your triangle getting shape. Continue until desired triangle size. When planning the size, remember that we will have to add another loop of beads just to sew the pyramids together.

2. Now when your 4 triangles are ready you can add another loop of beads to one of them (you may use other shade of beads like I did, especially when you do it for the first time, to facilitate sewing and adding a bit of color to your pyramids). The difference is that now you will add only one bead in the angles, where you used to add two.

3. Your base of the pyramid is ready. You may add the bangles at this point. String one 8o bead on threads and go through the center of the base triangle, so that the bead is on one side and ends of the thread on the other side.

4. Use three sizes of TOHO beads as well as Rondelle beads to make interesting dangles. I used pattern:

10 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x 8o, 1 x 11o,

10 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x 8o, 1 x 11o,

10 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x Rondelle, 1 x 11o,

Make a knot on the thread forming the dangle, but make sure to loosen it just enough, so that the bangle hangs nicely but you do not see the thread between the beads. Hide the ends of the thread inside dangle.

With each dangle I decreased the number of 15o beads by two in other to get various length dangles.

Initially I added 3 dangles, you may decide to add more later on.

5. Now it is time to start sewing our pyramid together.

Once you attached one triangle to the base of the pyramid you can add one loop of beads around it. Remember to add only 1 bead on angles of triangle.

Start attaching second triangle to the base. And the third one.

NOTE: Be careful not to add second layer of silver beads to the sides we will be sewing together. I did that on the very beginning and was wondering why the sides of the triangles do not match 🙂

6. After base and two walls of the pyramid are sewn together we can prepare the earring hook to be attached to our pyramid. We will need earring hook, eye pin, 1 x 8o TOHO bead and jewelry pliers to do that. Attach the eye pin to the earring hook, place the bead on it and make a bigger hook from the other side of the pin, leaving about 5mm of the pin loose over the bead.

Place the bottom of the eye pin with the bigger hook and the 8o TOHO bead inside of the pyramid, so that the earring hook sticks out of the top of the pyramid. Sew remaining sides of triangle carefully, so that 8o TOHO bead stays inside.

You can go around three top beads of the pyramid few times, to make sure that the earring hook is securely attached. Hide and cut off all the threads that were left around the pyramid.

7. Now you can add two or more dangles attaching them to three initial beads of base triangle. I added 2 of them using pattern:

4 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x 8o, 1 x 11o,

4 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x 8o, 1 x 11o,

4 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x Rondelle, 1 x 11o and

2 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x 8o, 1 x 11o,

2 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x 8o, 1 x 11o,

2 x 15o, 1 x 11o, 1 x Rondelle, 1 x 11o
